Dental Scaling

Scaling is elimination of calculus , also called tartar by the use of ultrasonic instruments . A little bit of gum bleeding can happen duwing scaling , depending on the degree of inflammed gums. We can adminsiter a local anaesthetic if the patient fells hypersensivity but it rarely happens within our practice.

The polishing of your teeth is followed where the tooth surface becomes smoother, thus making the reappearance of bacteria and tartar more difficult.Polishing also eliminates enamel discolouration. We usually apply some fluoride on your teeth after scaling to decrease any eventual sensitivity occurring after scale and polish.
